Initiate
Before engaging in a project, our potential partners are assessed to make sure that their values are compatible with our mission and vision. kandəkə® believes that sharing the same or similar values in an engagement is important to the cycle of producing meaningful outcomes and making positive change, especially when it comes to the rights of the people directly interacting with the end product, and its direct impact on them.
Discover
In this phase, we collaborate with partners to scope and compile a plan for the effort involved through a process that includes the identification of some of the following:
- the key stakeholders
- overall purpose of the project and goals behind the end product
- current technologies involved and data metrics that will inform the path of the engagement
- personas of the people that will be using the technology based on input from them
- functional and technical requirements, and system architecture
kandəkə® strongly trusts the fact that, at times, a no-tech solution is the best way to achieve the goal of a project and will recommend against using technology when it might be a detriment instead of an instrument.
Design
We consider design impact on communities over bottom lines, with more emphasis on the input from those who are directly influenced by the product. Our values-focused design resources help to drive and standardize positive and inclusive social outcomes across all of our projects and engagements.
Engineer
Application software engineering should aim to deliver maximum value and equity to people rather than shortcuts and efficiency. When we start a new project, we have immediate focus on solving the need in a socially conscious innovative manner. We have developed and continue to evolve technical guidelines, tools and processes that empower us to help produce the best quality, inclusive and accommodating technical products.
Deploy
Project releases are deployed once it is ascertained that they are meeting the intentions behind them and that they will be of service to and inclusive of all people, especially those who are directly impacted by the final product. This is done in a secure and scalable way, in line with a robust and standardized deployment management process.
Manage
To achieve the goals of the project, kandəkə® responds to change in an adept and agile way, taking into consideration the implications of the change through reassessments leading to evidence-based decisions.
